About the position:
AORTA films is seeking to add a Marketing Manager to our tiny but mighty team. This position will be part of the core AORTA films Team, working closely with AORTA’s Creative Director Mahx Capacity and Co-Producer Papi Femme to achieve AORTA’s goals for growth and sustainability by leading the development of AORTA’s marketing vision and strategy, as well as executing its implementation. This position is ideal for a driven generalist, able to combine knowledge and experience around social media, email marketing, SEO, guerilla and traditional advertising, sales, and more to create a cohesive, data-driven approach to leading the studio’s growth. While articulating strategy on a macro level, the Marketing Manager will also be in charge of implementing regular email marketing and social media activity, monthly website updates, and tracking key marketing metrics. 

All of AORTA’s core team is included in and co-creating the studio’s strategy, long term goals, internal culture and policies; that being said, we’re looking for someone who has a genuine love and interest in all things marketing specifically. In addition to the qualities listed above, candidates must have proven experience as a skilled multi-channel marketer, be comfortable tracking metrics to create data-driven strategy, and be able to think both macro and micro at the same time–excelling at both mile high strategy and on-the-ground implementation. We’re looking for a tenacious, visionary marketing genius, not daunted by eternal industry challenges of censorship, deplatforming, and anti-SW TOS. 

This is a mid-level position perfect for someone who wants to gain experience working in the adult and/or sextech industry. For the right fit, we envision this position growing into a part time and then full time position, and/or evolving into AORTA’s Marketing Director position. The position may entail:

• General Admin/Meetings
  • Attend monthly Team Meeting and lead weekly Marketing Check Ins
  • Participate in short and long term studio planning
  • Track, analyze, and share data-driven reporting
    
• Marketing Strategy
  • Help achieve revenue targets by creating and implementing a cohesive marketing strategy
  • Hone and implement AORTA’s brand across departments
  • Develop AORTA’s capacity for external advertising and opportunities for internal ad sales, partnerships, and sponsorship opportunities
  • Think outside the box to achieve steady growth while working around constant censorship and platform limitations; develop guerilla marketing initiatives 
  • Ensure ongoing connection with both old and new communities by researching emerging platforms and opportunities
    
• Marketing Implementation
  • Maintain AORTA’s robust presence by managing AORTA’s marketing and launch calendars
  • Publish finished film projects, clips, and new content to AORTA’s website with an eye towards SEO and engagement 
  • Grow membership by creating attention-grabbing, mission-aligned copy, content, and assets for socials, eblasts, and ad campaigns
  • Nurture online interaction via social accounts, reviews, and interactive features
  • Ensure that AORTA meets its marketing goals via regular A/B testing, metrics tracking, and adjustments
  • Attend festivals and shoots as possible to create original marketing content around AORTA’s work
    
• Film Festivals & Distribution 
  • Amplify AORTA’s work by submitting films and deliverables to festivals worldwide
  • Build partnerships with festival staff and distribution partners
  • Encourage lasting connection with festival audiences by connecting them back to AORTA’s site and membership
    
• Possible future duties (as role, responsibility, and title grows) might include:
  • Leading the development of a brand ambassador program
  • Graphic Design duties
  • Hiring specialists to assist with SEO, website redesign, etc.

Nice to haves (but not essential):

• Previous experience in the porn industry, sex work, or related fields
• Experience working in the solidarity economy, coops, etc. 
• Premiere, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Canva or other graphic and/or video design experience
• NYC based

Compensation:
This is an mid-level independent contractor role, compensated at $25/hr for a retainer 25 hours a month. The Marketing Manager may be asked to work over 25 hours (compensated at the same rate) if their schedule allows during busier months. There may be room for the Marketing Manager’s hours to increase in the future, given the right candidate. All contractors who make over $600 in a calendar year with AORTA films receive a 1099. 

About the position:
AORTA films is seeking to add an Operations Manager to our tiny but mighty team. This position will be part of the core AORTA films Team, working closely with AORTA’s Creative Director Mahx Capacity and Co-Producer Papi Femme in an operational role to manage the studio’s backend functionality, financial health, and legal compliance. The Operations Manager will be a generalist who has oversight including but not limited to bookkeeping, invoicing, contracting, tracking metrics, and CRM updates. 

All of AORTA’s core team is included in co-creating our strategy, vision, internal culture and policies; that being said, the Operations Manager is  someone who has a genuine love and interest in operations and administration.  In addition to the qualities listed above, candidates must be experienced with Quickbooks, Salesforce, and have a basic understanding of CRM management. Experience with tax prep, 1099’s, P&L’s and other annual reporting will be helpful, and someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, systems-driven, and passionate about supporting AORTA’s mission is a must for us!

  • Participate in short and long term studio planning
  • Track, analyze, and share data-driven reporting
    
• Bookkeeping
  • Ensure AORTA’s ongoing financial health and sustainability by leading a monthly Quickbooks rec, managing end of year reporting, etc
  • Keep AORTA in compliance with all state and federal tax requirements by prepping all materials for our accountant, and filing 1099s annually
  • Invoice festivals and distributors to ensure prompt payments
    
• Contracts 
  • Keep AORTA running smoothly by sending and receiving contracts from performers, collaborators, curators, festivals, and distributors.
  • Increase capacity across departments by creating easeful contracting flows
    
• CRM Updates
  • Amplify our outreach by ensuring our Salesforce CRM and member data is organized and up to date
  • Run occasional queries and tweak dashboard KPIs as needed
  • Liaise with CRM creator to manage improvements and updates
    
• Possible future duties (as role, responsibility, and title grows) might include:
  • Leading AORTA’s Studio Culture, HR, and Compliance
  • Creating and managing an internship program
